Core Promise to Families: CraftSparks is designed exclusively for family creativity, hands-on crafting, and real-world youth business education. We do NOT collect, sell, or track personal identification information from children or parents. All vision scanning runs 100% locally on your device.
1. Children's Privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K / Google Play Families)
CraftSparks is designed so that no personal information is ever collected from anyone, including children. Because we collect no personal data, the app's practices fall outside the "collection" requirements of the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR-K; we still follow the Google Play Families Policy for content and advertising.
- No Account Required: Children and parents can access all 22 craft guides, calculators, booth kit generators, and selling guides without creating an account or providing an email address.
- No Personal Data Harvesting: We do not ask for, store, or transmit children's names, birthdays, home addresses, phone numbers, or schools.
- No Public Chat or Social Interactions: There are no public forums, direct messaging features, or social interaction feeds in the app. Children cannot communicate with strangers.
2. Camera & "Supply Snap Matcher" Feature
CraftSparks includes an optional Snap Photo / Scan Supplies feature to help families recognize household items (such as cardboard box lids, paper rolls, or plastic bottles) and discover matching crafts.
- 100% On-Device Processing: When you use your camera or upload a photo, image analysis is performed entirely in your device's local memory (HTML5 Canvas). The scanner is a colour and texture estimator, not a trained object-recognition model, and its suggestions should always be confirmed by the user.
- Zero Server Upload: Your photos, camera streams, and captured images are never transmitted to our servers or any third-party cloud service.
- No Facial Recognition: Our local scanner only analyzes shapes, colors, and textures of common recyclables (paper, plastic, twine). It does not analyze or store biometric or facial data.
- Camera Permissions: Camera access is requested solely for the real-time scanning viewfinder and can be revoked by the user at any time in device system settings.
3. Third-Party Services & Advertising
- Zero Third-Party Ad Networks: We do not integrate any behavioral advertising SDKs (such as AdMob, Unity Ads, or Meta Audience Network) that track user behavior or device identifiers (AAID / IDFA).
- Amazon Associate Program Disclosure: CraftSparks participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program. When adult parents view recommended materials, external links may direct to Amazon.com. CraftSparks may earn an affiliate commission on qualifying purchases at zero additional cost to parents. All financial transactions occur externally on Amazon's official platform under adult supervision.
4. Data Security & Storage
User preferences (such as language selection and saved Amazon Associate tag settings) are stored strictly within the client browser or device's local storage (localStorage). This data remains on your physical device and is never synchronized to a remote database.
5. Parental Rights & Data Inquiries
Because we do not collect or store personal data, we do not retain children's records. However, parents have full rights to contact us at any time regarding privacy questions or feedback.
